Clear Braces
in Henderson, Nevada

A less noticeable way to straighten your teeth, planned around your smile and your goals.

Clear braces move teeth the same way metal braces do. The difference is what people see. The brackets are clear or tooth-colored, so they draw less attention while your teeth shift into place.

Pecos Dental offers clear braces in Henderson and the surrounding area. If you’ve avoided braces because of how they look, come talk to us. We’ll examine your teeth first and tell you plainly whether clear braces suit you.

What are Clear Braces?

Clear braces are fixed braces. They’re attached to your teeth and stay there until treatment is finished. You can’t take them out for meals or photos.

There are three parts:

  • Brackets: Small squares bonded to your teeth, made from a clear or tooth-colored material.
  • Archwire: A thin wire that runs through every bracket. It can be silver or tooth-colored.
  • Ties: Tiny bands that hold the wire in each bracket, usually clear.

Metal braces use silver brackets that stand out in photos. Clear brackets sit much closer to the color of your teeth. Up close, you can still see them, and we’d rather you hear that from us now than find out in the mirror.

How do Clear Braces work?

The wire is shaped to match the smile your teeth are heading toward. The brackets hold it against each tooth, and it presses them gently in the right direction. Teeth respond to steady pressure by shifting a little at a time.

That pressure fades as the teeth move, so the braces need adjusting. Every few weeks you’ll come in, and we may change the wire or the ties to keep things going. This is why braces take months, not weeks. It’s also why missed appointments slow everything down.

What can Clear Braces correct?

Clear braces are used for many of the same problems as metal braces:

  • Crooked teeth: Teeth that twist, tilt, or sit out of line.
  • Crowded teeth: Teeth overlapping because the jaw doesn’t have enough room.
  • Gaps: Spaces between teeth that can often be closed or narrowed.
  • Overbite: Upper front teeth sit too far forward over the lower ones.
  • Underbite: Lower teeth sit in front of the upper ones.
  • Crossbite: Some upper teeth close behind the lower teeth instead of in front.
  • Other issues: Teeth that stick out, or that don’t meet properly when you bite down.

Not every case is a good fit. Some bite problems need a different approach, and we can only tell that after an orthodontic exam.

Benefits of a Clear Braces

Most people ask about looks first, and that’s reasonable. But it isn’t the only reason.

Clear Braces vs. Traditional Braces

The two work the same way: brackets and a wire, applying pressure over time. What differs is how they look and how you look after them.

Clear brackets are made from ceramic-type material and are much harder to spot than metal. The small ties can pick up color from coffee, tea, and red wine, so brushing well matters. Clear brackets can also be less sturdy than metal ones, so you’ll need to go easy on hard and sticky foods.

Metal braces are more visible but very durable. Some bite problems are easier to treat with them.

We don’t think one is better for everyone. The right choice depends on your teeth and what you want from treatment. We’ll go through both with you at your visit.

What to Expect When Getting Clear Braces

  • Consultation: You tell us what bothers you about your smile, and we listen.
  • Exam: We look at your teeth and how they fit together when you bite.
  • Treatment plan: We explain what we recommend, how long it may take, and what it will involve.
  • Placing the braces: We attach the brackets to your teeth and thread the wire through.
  • Adjustment visits: You come in regularly so we can update the wire and keep your teeth moving.
  • Progress checks: We watch how your teeth respond and change the plan if they aren’t moving as expected.
  • Removal: When your teeth are where they should be, the braces come off, and we talk about how to keep your results.

frequently asked questions

Are clear braces less noticeable than metal braces?

Yes. The brackets are clear or tooth-colored, so they blend in better than metal. They’re still braces, and people standing close to you may see them.

Do clear braces hurt?

Not in a sharp way. Your teeth will likely feel sore for a few days after the braces go on and after some adjustments. Soft foods help, and so does over-the-counter pain medicine if you need it.

How long do clear braces take to straighten teeth?

Most treatment runs between one and three years. A mild case with small movements is quicker, and a crowded or complicated bite takes longer. After your exam, we can give you a realistic estimate.

Can clear braces fix crowded teeth?

Often, yes. Crowding is one of the most common reasons people get braces. Your treatment plan will show how we’d make room and bring the teeth into line.

Can clear braces fix gaps between teeth?

In many cases, yes. Braces can bring teeth together and close certain gaps. What works best depends on the size of the gap and what’s causing it.

Are clear braces right for me?

We can’t answer that without seeing your teeth. Your bite, your goals, and your habits all matter. An exam gives you a real answer.

Why Patients Choose Pecos Dental for Clear Braces

We start with the exam, not a sales pitch. You’ll hear what we see in your teeth, what we’d recommend, and whether clear braces, metal braces, or something else makes the most sense.

You’ll also leave knowing what comes next. Your treatment plan covers the steps involved, how long we expect it to take, and what we’ll need from you along the way. If you have questions about costs or scheduling, we’ll go over those too.

Once treatment starts, you’ll see the same team at your adjustment and progress visits, so you’re never left guessing where things stand.
